Gas Leak Near Great Southern Shopping Center In Bridgeville Closes Stores

BRIDGEVILLE, Pa. -- (KDKA) -- Multiple fire departments responded to a reported gas leak in Collier Township Sunday.
What was described as a "major leak" was reported at Great Southern Shopping Center on Route 50.
A Peoples Gas spokesman said the company received a call about an odor of gas in the building and dispatched a crew there to determine its source.
All gas appliances were checked for any possible leaks.
Six stores were impacted and were shut down.
The gas leak was discovered not at the shopping center, but at a nearby street.
Crews are working to repair that leak.
