Report: Former Pens Head Coach Dan Bylsma To Meet With Panthers

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Since the day Dan Bylsma got fired, most analysts just assumed he would have a job waiting for him, and it appears one possible landing spot for the ex-Penguins head coach could be with the Florida Panthers.

According to Brian Stubits of CBSSports.com, Bylsma is interested in the Panthers' head coaching vacancy and will be meeting with the members of the organization to discuss the job.

The Florida job hasn't been a big time job like some would expect the former Team USA head coach to land, but with a deep prospect pool to work from, Bylsma would have a chance to help turn around a franchise known more for their futility than anything else.

The Panthers could have the inside track to Bylsma as Stubits points out given the relationship he has with team Executive Vice-President and General Manager Dale Tallon. who worked on the management staff of the 2014 Olympic team.

While Bylsma looks for his next coaching gig, he has found work with the NHL Network as an analyst for the Stanley Cup Final.
