Recent graduate from Univ. of Dayton killed after car falls on top of him

DAYTON, Ohio (KDKA) -- The University of Dayton has announced the death of a graduate from Pittsburgh just hours after he received his degree.

Police were called to Irving Avenue for reports of a car falling on top of someone, CBS affiliate WHIO reported.

A 911 caller said 22-year-old Ian Brunner was working on a car in a campus parking lot on Irving Avenue when the jack fell out and he became trapped underneath, according to WHIO.

Brunner, a mechanical engineer major, died on the scene, WHIO reported.  

"We ask that the community keep this young man's family, friends and loved ones in their prayers," the university said in a statement to WHIO.
