Ravens Analyst Qadry Ismail Trash Talks Steelers, Renegade
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With Steelers-Ravens just days away, former Baltimore Raven and current team analyst Qadry Ismail joined the Starkey and Mueller Show to preview the game and gave us one of the interviews of the year.
Qadry talked a bit about the Steelers-Ravens matchup, but also gave us his take on Houston Texan defensive lineman JJ Watt's role in the evolution of giraffes, why he hates Heath Miller and how annoying the Steelers Renegade montage is to him.
To say Qadry is a fan of JJ Watt is an understatement as he praised the defensive lineman for his play on the field and told us a story about Watt we'd never heard before.
"I was watching National Geographic after the Ravens went down there and played against them," Qadry told us. "They talked about the evolution of different animals, the giraffe was actually created when JJ Watt uppercut the giraffe from a horse, so wow! Just breathe on that for a second. Think about that horse just doing its own thing, minding its own business, here comes 99 and BAM, uppercut, you got a giraffe, next thing you know, the earth is populated with this long-necked animal and we thank JJ for it."
This was just the opening act for Qadry though as he later went on to talk about his dislike of Steelers tight end Heath Miller.
"Then you talk about Heath Miller, who I just absolutely have the most respect for but cannot stand him," Qadry said. "It's nothing personal about it, lets just be honest, it's nothing personal. If I saw the guy, I'm inviting him to my golf tournament, all that! Can't stand the way he plays because the dude just frickin, always, not some of the time, but always shows up. Not maybe, but is just there."
Qadry's trash talk didn't stop there though as he took on the Terrible Towel and the Steelers famous Renegade montage played at Heinz Field that always gets the crowd pumped up.
"Whether it be the crowd and the Terrible Towel, I'm not going to give you too much love on that one we'll move on from that, or if it's the stupid Renegade song that somehow plays," Qadry said. "Lets just move on from that, you guys got your new video board, it's the flat screen look, everybody loves the HD, we don't need Renegade! There's a new song out there somewhere I'm sure. You guys can get what's old girl, Katy Perry's new song, man put some highlights to that! That's what we're talking about."
