Pyrofest Delights Crowds At Hartwood Acres

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Fireworks lit up the sky over Hartwood Acres Saturday evening at the country's largest fireworks festival.

It was the third annual Pyrofest, presented by New Castle's Pyrotecnico.

The festival featured a military tribute, a rock and roll tribute and a huge grand finale.

The fireworks were set to music, and included the world premiere of the show called "Whole Lotta Love," which featured pop love songs from Beyonce to the Beatles to Guns 'N Roses.

In addition, several bands played live, including NOMaD and Johnny Angel and the Halos.

The festival also featured a rock-climbing wall, kids' zone, face painting, crafts and other fun activities.

Organizers say they hope to make the fireworks festival an annual event for Memorial Day weekend.
