Psychiatric Exam Ordered For Man Accused Of Stalking FBI Agent
PITTSBURGH (AP) - A federal judge has ordered a psychiatric evaluation for a man accused of stalking and harassing an FBI agent by posting a fake Craigslist sex ad with his phone number and address.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that U .S. District Judge Mark Hornak said Friday that there's reason to believe that 47-year-old Frederick Banks of Pittsburgh has a mental problem.
The judge said a competency hearing will be held to determine whether Banks can stand trial on an interstate stalking charge.
Banks is accused of having placed a June 25 Craigslist ad seeking sex and listing the name and Florida phone number of the agent, who used to work in Pittsburgh and helped investigate a 2003 case in which Banks was sentenced to five years in prison.
