Principal: Penn Hills Student Brought Weapon To School

PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- A Penn Hills High School student reportedly brought a weapon onto school property recently.

According to a statement from Principal Eric Kostic, the Penn Hills Police Department is investigating and the student has been suspended.

Penn Hills Police tell KDKA the incident happened a month ago, but officials were not made aware of it until 8 p.m. Thursday night, when they took immediate action.

"As always, our goal is to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment at Penn Hills High School.  Unsafe student actions such as this cannot and will not be tolerated," Kostic wrote.
