Potential World Record Buck Bagged In Tennessee

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Tennessee man had the hunt of a lifetime, bagging what may be a world record deer during a recent hunting trip.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says the Gallatin man shot a 47-point buck.

Stephen Tucker, 26, bagged the buck while muzzleloader hunting in Sumner County Monday.

TWRA officials posted the photo of the possible world record buck on Facebook.

They say the deer had 47 points and totaled more than 300 inches in length.

The current world record deer was taken in Iowa and in 2003 and was 307 5/8ths inches.

The current Tennessee record, which was also bagged in Sumner County, is 244 3/8ths inches.

There's a chance during the required 60-day drying period the rack could shrink below world record status, TWRA officials said.

The antlers are set to be measured again in January.
