Police Seek Man Accused Of Threatening Woman While Impersonating A State Trooper
NEW CASTLE (KDKA) -- State Police are looking for a Lawrence County man accused threatening a woman several times while impersonating a state trooper.
According to state police, a felony warrant has been issued for 40-year-old David Rowbotham of Wampum.
Investigators say Rowbotham called the 36-year-old victim from New Castle several times, claiming to be a state trooper and recording the calls without her permission.
He allegedly told her there was a burglary warrant out for her arrest, and threatened her.
Authorities say Rowbotham and the victim are "vaguely acquainted," and the incidents appear to stem from "the victim's indirect involvement with an ongoing domestic dispute."
Rowbotham is facing charges of impersonating a public servant, criminal coercion, harassment by communication and a wiretap violation.
He is described as a white male, about 5-feet-8-inches tall, weighs 235 pounds, has a shaved head and green eyes.
