Police Search For Man Charged In Fatal Wilkinsburg Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Police are looking for a McKeesport man who is charged with shooting another man in the head Tuesday morning. Police say the man they're looking for was in jail not too long ago.

Triq Price, 39, faces criminal homicide, robbery, drug and weapon charges.

Police say that Price, nicknamed "Wax," is accused of shooting 49-year-old David Herbin after demanding money and drugs.

The victim died last night.

The shooting happened before 5 a.m. yesterday on Laketon Road in Wilkinsburg.

They say there were at least four people inside the house at the time.

"They may have been using drugs throughout the evening and into the early morning hours," Inspector Andrew Schurman said.

Drugs such as crack cocaine. In fact, according to police paperwork, Price was there smoking the drug along with a David Herbin.

Witnesses say that at some point, Price pulled out a gun and demanded drugs, money and everything the witnesses had on them. Herbin complied, then witnesses say Price shot Herbin in the head.

They watched Price run out the backdoor and into the woods. Witnesses told police that Price just got out of jail.

As of now, the manhunt for Price continues.

"He's familiar with the eastern portions of the city of Pittsburgh and the eastern suburbs, Wilkinsburg and Penn Hills, but we don't know exactly where he is at the moment," Schurman said.

Schurman says Triq is described as a black male about 6 feet tall. He was last known to have a bald head and a full beard.
