Police Probe 2 Armed Robberies In Beltzhoover Area
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Police are investigating two armed robberies in the Beltzhoover area.
The victims were forced to hand over money at gunpoint.
"They just kept putting guns to our heads, to our backs, for no apparent reason at all," said Amanda.
Amanda and her roommates were asleep in their Mt. Washington home when they were all awakened by a group of masked men. They appeared to be teens, all wearing bandanas.
"Three guys came into the room with guns in our faces," said one roommate.
"They kept asking us where -- if we had money or guns," said another roommate.
"They pushed the gun to the back of my head and they were very explicit and they said they were going to kill me if I moved again," said the roommate.
Police say there have been eight crimes in the general Beltzhoover/Mt. Washington area in the past few weeks. And there seems to be a pattern: robbery one night and steal the car keys, come back later for the car.
"They took my wallet, my cell phone and my car keys and they go, 'where do you live?'" said another victim. "I said, 'excuse me?' I pointed over here and they were just like, 'show us.'"
"Before they left, they said it's just another day on the job, that's what made me mad the most," said Amanda's roommate.
She said they came back the next day to steal her car.
