Police: Perry South Couple Tied Up, Beaten By 4 Masked Suspects

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A Perry South couple was rushed to the hospital Thursday night after investigators say they were tied up and beaten by four masked men who broke into their home.

The incident happened in the 600-block of Marshall Avenue just after 8 p.m.

According to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department, the four suspects broke into the home and tied up the 60-year-old woman and 59-year-old man. The couple is married.

Investigators say the man was beaten with a hammer. The woman was beaten as well, but police say it's not clear if a weapon was used to assault her.

Both were taken to a local hospital.

The man was in serious to critical condition and the woman was listed in serious condition.

Police say the suspects had at least one gun.
