Police Look For Suspect In Fatal Wilkinsburg Restaurant Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It was three months ago when 31-year-old Lyneill Williams was shot and killed as he sat in the Fireside Restaurant on Penn Avenue in Wilkinsburg.

Police have been looking at surveillance video taken by a security camera located at a nearby used car lot hoping to identify a possible suspect seen walking into the restaurant just before the shooting, and then leaving, moments later.

KDKA's Ralph Iannotti Reports:

Now, the video has been made public for the first time.

The man is heavy set, wearing a white t-shirt, jeans, and he has on a dark hat. He appears to be talking on a cell phone as he exits the restaurant.

Detective Robert Opferman, of the Allegheny County Police, says the man, if not a suspect is certainly a person of interest, and someone police want to talk to. Several other customers were inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting, but the gunman came inside, and walked directly up to Williams.

KDKA's Christine D'Antonio Reports:

The Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers number is 412-255-9477.

Information leading to an arrest and conviction could be worth up to $1,000.
