Police Investigating Deadly Shooting Near IUP's Campus

INDIANA, Pa. (KDKA) -- Indiana Borough Police are investigating a shooting that took place near IUP's campus that left a man dead.
The shooting happened in the 1300 block of Oakland Avenue around 4:00 a.m. Saturday. The victim was in his early 20s, police say. Police used life-saving measures on the unresponsive victim until EMS arrived, but he was pronounced dead upon arriving at a local hospital.
The Indiana County Coroner identified the victim as Jaedyn Wright of Pittsburgh.
Indiana Borough Police say they are continuing to investigate, but they do not believe there is an immediate threat to the community. They say they will continue to provide updates.
Pennsylvania State Police, IUP campus Police Department, Citizens Ambulance, Indiana Fire Association, Indiana County Coroner's Office and the Indiana County District Attorney's Office all assisted in the investigation.
