Victims In Deadly Route 65 Shooting Identified

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating after two people were shot and killed inside a vehicle along Route 65 early Friday morning.

According to police, the shooting happened just before 5 a.m. on the northbound side of Route 65 near the McKees Rocks Bridge.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 26-year-old Richard West-Gray and 24-year-old Carlton Watson Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds. The bodies were found inside a sedan in the southbound lane of Ohio River Boulevard

Officers performed CPR on the victims, but paramedics pronounced both men dead at the scene.

Both were from the West Homestead area.

The northbound lanes were closed between Marshall Avenue and the McKees Rocks Bridge for several hours.

A tarp covered the driver's side window of the vehicle as detectives worked the scene. Because of the heavy downpour, a white tent was erected to protect the evidence.

So far no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Violent Crime Unit at (412)-323-7161.
