Police: Woman killed after man 'intentionally' hit her with his car in McKeesport
MCKEESPORT, Pa. (KDKA) -- A man was arrested after police said he "intentionally" hit a woman with his car and killed her in McKeesport.
Brandon Pendleton, 31, is charged with criminal homicide, terroristic threats and criminal attempt homicide, Allegheny County police said. Investigators said Pendleton "intentionally struck the victim following an argument."
Emergency dispatchers were notified of a woman who had been hit by a vehicle along Jenny Lind Street just after 1 a.m. Thursday, according to Allegheny County police.
Police said when officers and medics arrived at the scene, they found 39-year-old Misty Lack in critical condition. She was taken to the hospital where she died.
According to police, Lack confronted Pendleton after he allegedly groped one of her daughters. Lack was so angry she threw a toaster oven at Pendleton's car, shattering its back window. Witnesses told police after this, Pendleton circled the neighborhood, returned and ran down the mother of several children, some of whom witnessed the incident.
Michelle Hefner lives just down the street from where it happened.
"It's horrible, horrible. Why would you do that?" Hefner said.
Several people say Lack is relatively new to the neighborhood. Hefner says right now, all she can think about are the children Lack left behind.
"That poor woman and her kids," Hefner said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
