Police: Armstrong County Shooting Was Justifiable, No Charges Filed

ARMSTRONG COUNTY (KDKA) -- Police say no charges will be filed after a man was shot in Dayton early Saturday morning.

According to state police, 21-year-old Brandon James Vallies was shot in the torso at a home on West Main Street in Dayton around 2:30 a.m.

He was flown to UPMC Presbyterian. His injury is not suspected to be life-threatening.

Police have not yet released a suspect's name, but say the shooting was justifiable. The victim was reportedly ordered to leave the suspect's property and refused to do so.

Vallies was trying to break in the kitchen door when he was shot.

The investigation is ongoing.
