PORT VUE, Pa. (KDKA) -- A 16-year-old boy has been charged after police say he accidentally shot his brother in the leg in Port Vue.

Allegheny County Police say 16-year-old Jahwon Glenn has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and firearms charges after his younger brother was shot along Romine Avenue just after 10 p.m. on Thursday night.

According to court paperwork, Glenn and his brother were inside the home with some friends and he was showing a black pistol to the others in the room with him.

Police say the victim told detectives that Glenn was holding the gun while showing it off and it went off, hitting him in the leg.

The victim told police that Glenn said "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." after the shot was fired.

The younger brother was taken to the hospital by medics and is expected to be okay.

Glenn was unable to post bail and is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled next month.
