Police Investigate Penn State Kidnapping
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating after a Penn State student was kidnapped over the weekend.
It happened around 1 a.m. Saturday on Shortlidge Road, near Simmons Hall.
School officials say the student was able to get away on foot, but after she was forced into a van, taken off campus and assaulted.
The suspects are described as "college aged, white males of average height and weight, wearing dark, hooded sweatshirts and scarves covering their faces."
School officials say that the suspects could still pose a threat to the university campus.
In order to increase safety, students are encouraged to use the buddy system, report any suspicious activity and to be aware of surroundings.
Police are also asking anyone with information to call Penn State Police at 814-863-1111.
Anyone with information is also asked to contact Centre County Crimestoppers at tip@centrecountycrimestoppers.org. Information leading to an arrest could result in a $1,000 reward.
