Police Investigate Deadly Hill District Shooting
HILL DISTRICT (KDKA)- Homicide detectives are investigating a deadly overnight shooting in the Hill District.
Police were called to the scene along Bedford Avenue just after midnight. Officers found a man shot on the second floor of the Bedford Dwellings apartment building.
The victim Ramar Grant, 26, of Bloomfield, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
"He was inside of the apartment building and I believe he was located in the stairwell," Pittsburgh Police Spokeswoman Sonya Toler said.
Pittsburgh homicide investigators are looking into the specifics of the fatal shooting, but said surveillance footage taken from outside of the public housing complex caught two possible suspects running away.
"There were two black males seen fleeing that area. We don't have a very good description, just a clothing description. One was wearing all black with a hooded sweatshirt, another was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and some light-colored jeans," Toler said.
Police are asking anyone with information to call them. Callers can remain anonymous.
