Police: Deer Head Left In Beaver Co. Mailbox
NEW GALILEE (KDKA) – State Police are investigating after a deer's head was left in the mailbox of a Beaver County resident over the weekend.
According to police, the incident happened in the 200-block of Fisher Lane in New Galilee sometime between 11 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
"I think it's terrible... shame on them," said Pat Turconi, a neighbor.
The responding State Police trooper said all of the other mailboxes nearby were smaller, which may explain why the suspect picked the victim's.
The deer head was found by a mail carrier who was attempting to deliver the mail on Saturday.
"My mailbox is on the side of the road, but if someone did that to me, I would want to go get them," said Dorothy Nolan, of Darlington.
Police have no leads and the family said they have had no trouble with anyone.
The person responsible could face a $300 fine and/or 90 days in jail.
Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police at (724)-598-2211.
