Police Arrest Skateboarder Who Attacked Couple With Knife

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police say they have a arrested the skateboarder accused of attacking two people with a knife last week on the Smithfield Street Bridge.

According to Pittsburgh Police, 22-year-old James Malone of McKees Rocks turned himself in to authorities on Monday.

The incident happened last Friday night at the Smithfield Street Bridge and Fort Pitt Boulevard.

Malone is accused of attacking a man and a woman who were walking across the bridge.

Police say Malone threw the man's bicycle into the river, and then pulled out a knife, stabbing the man in the forearm and chasing the woman. She was not hurt.

A bystander called 911.

Malone was taken into custody at the city's Zone 3 Police Station.
