Plum School District Mourns Loss Of Assistant Football Coach
PLUM (KDKA) -- The Plum School District is mourning the loss of one of their high school football coaches.
Assistant coach Lorenzo Freeman died suddenly.
Plum football tweeted, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Coach Lorenzo Freeman and the players and staff of Plum Football."

Plum Athletic Director Bob Alpino released the following statement on Freeman's passing:
"The Plum High School football program was shocked to learn of the unexpected death of our assistant coach, Lorenzo Freeman, earlier today. Lorenzo was a coach, mentor, and friend to many Mustang players over the past three years. He had a passion for coaching, but his impact extended beyond the field. He taught life lessons and loved developing his players into responsible young men. Please keep Lorenzo's family, our players and coaches in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. He will be greatly missed."
Freeman was a former Pitt Panthers player, and played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1987 to 1990.
The Pitt football program tweeted, "Deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Lorenzo Freeman. Once and always a Pitt Panther."
The condolences are also rolling in from neighboring school district. Districts like Woodland Hills, Knoch and Kiski tweeted their sympathies tonight.

Freeman was found at his home in New Kensington on Monday. The coroner's office says there are no signs of foul play.
The Plum football team plans to honor Freeman at their game Friday. They're still working on the details.
