Pittsburgh Weather: Wind, cooler air remain throughout Tuesday

KDKA-TV Afternoon Forecast (3/7)

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - After a windy night, we're feeling more like winter today, but at least the sun is out!

ALERT: None.

AWARE: Scattered rain to snow showers Friday into Saturday.

Highs Tuesday will be in the low-to-mid-40s, which is average for this time of year. Get ready for a couple of chilly mornings, with lows dipping down into the 20s. Skies remain dry through Thursday, with abundant sunshine each day! By then, highs only climb into the upper-40s.

Our next system arrives Friday, with most of the area expected to see rain because highs will be in the 40s, but temperatures will start to cool off in the afternoon which will allow for some snowflakes to start mixing in.

The I-80 corridor and mountains will likely be seeing the mixing/wet snow action during the day. Eventually, everything will switch over into all snow by Saturday afternoon, and flurries will linger during the first half of the weekend.

The Pittsburgh St. Patrick's Day parade is this Saturday, and it is looking chilly with temperatures in the afternoon in the upper-30s to lower-40s with breezy conditions. So, dress warmly if you're headed downtown! Sunday is looking cloudy, but dry with highs remaining average in the mid-40s.

Another system looks like it will bring us some more winter weather late Monday into Tuesday. This appears to be a rain/snow mixing type event, but cold air will play a big factor in this. Most of next week will be chilly with highs in the 30s to 40s.

So, stay tuned and be prepared for more winter weather!
