Pittsburgh Weather: Hazy start to Tuesday with isolated afternoon rain chance

KDKA-TV Noon Forecast (5/23)

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Hazy sunshine returns today, with smoke from the Western Canada wildfires still leading to high particulate levels in the upper atmosphere and haze across our region.

Alert: None.

Aware: Cold front rolls through on Wednesday, bringing scattered afternoon/evening shower chances.

Otherwise, sunny and warm again today, with highs again in the upper 70s. There's a very slight chance of a spotty shower or sprinkle in spots later this afternoon (best chance north of Pittsburgh), but most will stay dry.

Wednesday will start sunny and warm again, with highs near 80 before a strong cold front drops through the region bringing a chance for a line of scattered showers (maybe a rumble of thunder in the Laurel Highlands), and then cooler air Thursday with highs only reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s.

We'll recover to the 70s again Friday, with dry weather to start the Memorial Day weekend. A low-pressure center could affect us Sunday and Memorial Day, bringing a few showers, but right now the computer models are not in agreement on its track or formation.

We'll keep an eye on that as we head toward the holiday weekend!
