Pittsburgh Weather: Cloudy, seasonally warm temperatures continue

KDKA-TV Afternoon Forecast (1/10)

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Clouds will win out over the sun today and some areas to the north could see an isolated sprinkle or flurry to the far north today, but most of us will stay dry with temperatures heading toward the lower 40s.

Alert: None.

Aware: Warmer midweek with rain Thursday and snow Friday night-Saturday.

Warmer air arrives tomorrow with us once again taking about a 5-degree step upward as we hit highs in the mid to upper 40s. We'll be close to if not just above 50 degrees by Wednesday before some showers arrive late evening into Thursday morning.

A better chance for widespread rain comes Thursday afternoon and evening, then chillier air pushes in Friday with a chance for some snow showers Friday night into Saturday. Most areas right now are only looking at about 1/2" of snow accumulation through Saturday, but the Laurel Highlands, Ridges, and areas close to and north of I-80 could see higher amounts.

We'll hone in on snow forecast amounts more closely as we get later in the week, but right now it only looks like a minor impact for Saturday morning.
