Christmas will be very warm. We're forecasting 60 degrees, which could make it the seventh-warmest Christmas on record. If we hit 58 degrees in Pittsburgh, we will tie for the 10th-warmest Christmas on record.

Skies will gradually clear through the late morning after some early fog, but it will be a very mild holiday.

A rainy pattern moves in late Monday night and sticks around through Thursday, along with mild temperatures.

The heaviest rain will move through Wednesday, with totals through the week near half-inch to 1 inch. Cold air finally begins a return later on Thursday, and some of those rain showers will start to mix with snow showers on Friday.

Temperatures will hover near normal, with highs in the upper 30s, for the end of what has been a very warm December in Pittsburgh. New Year's Day will feel more like typical January, with highs near 40.
