PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police say they have arrested a suspect in connection with a recent series of violent robberies involving at least five businesses.
Arrington Stine, 21, of Verona, was apprehended during a traffic stop along East Hills Drive on Friday, Jan. 5. He will be charged with five counts of robbery.
The robberies happened on Tuesday and Wednesday at five businesses in the city: the Dollar General on Centre Avenue, the Wine and Spirits Store on Centre Avenue, the Fuel-On Convenience store on Ellsworth Avenue, the Warrington Beer Store on E. Warrington Avenue, and the Primanti Brothers location in the Strip District.
According to police, in all five robberies, the suspect entered the business, "violently" thrust a gun at the clerk, then grabbed some cash and ran away.
Police say they believe he also hit the Shell station on Baum Boulevard, robbing the clerk at gunpoint and punching a customer several times in the face before fleeing.
Stine is currently being held in the Allegheny County jail.
