PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Ben Roethlisberger says his arm is feeling great almost a year after his season-ending elbow injury.
On Tuesday, Roethlisberger spoke to the media for the first time this year. He discussed everything from his elbow procedure to the recovery process and shared his expectations for the 2020 season.
"My arm feels really good. I threw a lot of balls yesterday and waking up today to see how I was gonna feel, and it feels great," the Steelers quarterback said. "And that's kind of what I anticipated because we've been working more than usual in the off-season in terms of throwing. I've put together a regime of two to three days a week throwing."
The Pittsburgh Steelers released a video of Ben Roethlisberger throwing a football yesterday. "A beautiful sight to see!" the Steelers said on Twitter Monday.
Monday was a big day for Roethlisberger as he threw the ball around Heinz Field with no issues. He said all signs are leading in the right direction following his Week 2 elbow injury in 2019.

Fans also got a look at Roethlisberger throwing a football last week on Robert Morris University's Twitter account.
The injury and surgery were unique and took Roethlisberger some time to recover from. He said not many in the NFL have had the procedure he underwent. However, Roethlisberger said he didn't waste any time in returning to his off-season workouts.
"Having no football last year, I actually trained all during the season," Roethlisberger said. "I didn't really have an offseason, so I'm actually lighter than I've been in 13 or 14 years. I feel really good. I feel strong. I feel healthy. I feel young, if you can feel young at this age. I'm just really excited about the season and the group of guys we have here."
The focus quickly shifted to the upcoming season, with Roethlisberger expressing excitement to work with new tight end Eric Ebron and returners such as Vance McDonald and JuJu Smith-Shuster. He also gave his thoughts on the state of the Steelers' offense.
"Having two kinds of dynamic weapons like that can still give you a lot in the run game," Roethlisberger said. "I think people sometimes get this perception that, OK, you have these two kinds of skilled receivers; you're going to use them just to pass. I know Vance very well and spending time with Eric these past few months, knowing both of them, they don't want to be lumped into the bubble of just being receiving tight ends."
Roethlisberger also touched on the relationship he's building with wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard.
"We try to spend time talking, both on the field yesterday a little bit as well as in the meeting rooms and walking between meetings," Roethlisberger said.
Roethlisberger explained what it means to have a chance to finish his career with the Steelers.
"I think if I had felt that I was closer to the end, it might have been more of a decision for me to think longer about coming back or not. But I just didn't feel that I was close to that yet. I'm not saying that I have 10 years left in me, but I definitely feel like I've got some really good years in me."
He ended by leaving no doubt of his intentions.
"I still have it in the tank. I still have a lot to give this team. I still have a lot to give to fans. I still want to win Lombardis. I say that with a plural on the end," the quarterback said.
