Pittsburgh Radio DJ Suspended Over Freddie Gray Comments

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Pittsburgh radio DJ has been suspended after making comments on social media about Freddie Gray.

WAMO 100 suspended DJ Mike Jax yesterday after he posted a photo of Gray on his Instagram account with the comment "he was pretty busy before he was unjustly killed at the hands of Baltimore P.D."

Gray died in Baltimore Police custody on April 19th.

WAMO says it has suspended Jax indefinitely because of the comments.

The WAMO General Manager says, "We are dedicated to presenting journalistic integrity as well as being sensitive to our listeners and their concerns. WAMO 100 does not share the views or condone the comments expressed on a WAMO 100 personal social media page."

Jax has apologized for his post, saying it was not his intention to justify Gray's death, but to highlight that his arrest record does not justify it.
