Pittsburgh Police Vehicle Crashes Into Barrier, Officer Injured

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) --- A Pittsburgh Police officer was injured when he crashed his vehicle Tuesday morning on the city's North Side.

Police say the officer was driving south on East Street around 5:45 a.m. when he crashed into a barrier at the intersection with Madison Avenue. That section of East Street passes over the Parkway North.

The officer was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

The police cruiser was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

East Street was closed between Madison Avenue and North Avenue as police investigators looked into the cause of the crash.
