High school student injured in hit-and-run crash in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Pittsburgh police are investigating after a Carrick High School student was injured in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday morning.

Police were alerted just after 7 a.m. on Tuesday to a report that a juvenile male was struck by the driver of a vehicle on Brownsville Road and East Agnew Avenue. The driver of the vehicle left the scene, officials said.

Bystanders rushed to help the student until first responders arrived. Medics transported the victim to the hospital in stable condition, according to police. He is expected to survive.

Police secured camera footage and worked with Pittsburgh Regional Transit to identify the vehicle and license plate.

Meanwhile, residents in this area said people drive fast on this street and don't pay attention to the pedestrian population.

The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
