Pittsburgh Police Commander Jason Lando Accepts Job As Chief In Frederick, Maryland

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Pittsburgh Police Commander Jason Lando has accepted a job as chief in Frederick, Maryland.

Lando took command of the Tree of Life shooting. Growing up in Squirrel Hill, he spent his boyhood at that synagogue.

He's served the community since 2000 and was the Zone 5 commander for six years.

"As with anyone leaving (Pittsburgh Police) for other opportunities, we wish him well and thank him for his service to the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and the City of Pittsburgh," Chief Scott Schubert said in a statement on Twitter.
