Penguins get Dmitry Kulikov from Ducks for Brock McGinn, third-round draft pick

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Pittsburgh Penguins got Anaheim Ducks defenseman Dmitry Kulikov in exchange for forward Brock McGinn and a 2024 third-round draft pick.   

On Wednesday, the Penguins re-assigned Brock McGinn to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. 

In his second season with the Penguins, 29-year-old McGinn tallied 10 goals, six assists and 16 points in 60 games. McGinn has played in eight NHL seasons split between the Penguins and Hurricanes. 

Kulikov appeared in 61 games this season and recorded three goals, 12 assists and 15 points while averaging 20:13 minutes of time on ice per game and leads Anaheim with 103 blocked shots. He's in his 14th NHL season and has played for several other teams, appearing in over 800 games. 

It's not the only move the Penguins made with the trade deadline set for Friday. The Penguins acquired center Nick Bonino in a three-way trade with the San Jose Sharks and Montreal Canadiens.
