Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers Offering Reward In Knoxville Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A 47-year-old woman is still hospitalized, 10 days after she was shot and critically wounded in the city's Knoxville section.
The shooting happened while she was walking home on Brownsville Road after leaving her job at a nearby McDonald's.
The woman, not identified by police, was shot and left lying on the ground near Reifert Street.
"Apparently, she was approached by two people who appeared to actually have walked in her direction, and then as she passed them, they turned around and followed her some more down the sidewalk," said Pittsburgh Police spokesperson Sonya Toler. "At some point, she must have turned around because she was shot in the chest and they left her there and ran off.
Police have now released surveillance video from a nearby business, showing the two suspects.
"There were people in the neighborhood, but of course, you know, whenever there are guns involved, there's a fear factor," said Toler.
The victim, still fighting for her life, is now in serious condition.
Information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case could be worth up to $1,000. The Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers phone number is 413-255-8477.
