Pitt's James Conner Named One Of Nation's 15 Scariest College Players
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - It should come as no real surprise that a running back listed at six-foot-two-inches and 250-pounds made a list of college football's "scariest players."
Pitt running back James Conner was named to Mike Huguenin's top 15 list of the scariest players at the college football level.
Huguenin says the players who made the list are "scary because of the carnage that ensues when they have the ball in their hands" and "others are scary because of the havoc they can wreak as defenders."
Conner is unique in that he scares teams with his big play capability when the ball is in his hands, but also frightens defenders with his ability to just run them over.
The reigning ACC Player of the Year award winner, Conner comes into his junior season after rushing for 1,765 yards and 26 touchdowns last year, breaking three records previously held by Pitt great Tony Dorsett for rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns (26) and scoring (156 points).
Conner was also named a first team All-American last season and will look to really set himself apart from the competition in the 2015 season, his first under new head coach Pat Narduzzi.
