Pitt's Tyler Boyd To Declare For NFL Draft
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It looks like life is about to change dramatically, and change for the better for Tyler Boyd and his family.
The Pitt Panther wide receiver, who is the school's all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards, on New Year's Day, made an Instagram post in which said he would be declaring for the 2016 NFL draft. It means Boyd will be skipping his senior year at Pitt.

Observers predict Boyd could be a second-round pick in the upcoming NFL draft. In his Instagram post, Boyd said in part, "Dear Pittsburgh, I will always be the kid from Clairton, that dreamed of catching that winning touchdown." He concluded his post, saying, "Thank you for raising me, Pittsburgh. Hail to Pitt."
Pat Narduzzi, Pitt's head football coach, released a statement late Friday saying he had several meetings with Boyd and his family this week, and a number of conversations with NFL General Managers. He said, "Tyler informed me that he wanted to pursue his dream in the NFL."
Narduzzi, who has only coached Boyd for one year, said, "I wish him the very best at the next level, and know he will make an NFL team very happy."
