Report: Pitt Football Loses One Of Its Top Recruiters

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pitt wide receivers coach Bobby Engram is thought to be one of Pitt's top recruiters. However, word is now spreading that the Baltimore Ravens are interested in the Pitt assistant as they have an opening for their wide receiver coaching position.

According to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun, the Ravens lost receivers coach Jim Hostler this offseason as he took a job with the Bills as a senior offensive assistant. Engram is thought to be one of the candidates they're interested in.

The loss of Engram would be a significant one for Pitt as he played a key role in getting wide receiver Tyler Boyd to commit to the Panthers.  Boyd has gone on the record as saying Engram is one of the main reasons he chose Pitt.

Boyd's commitment to Pitt paid off for the Panthers as he was voted onto the 13th Annual Football Writer's Association of America Freshman All-American Team.

Pitt Head Coach Paul Chryst joined Starkey and Mueller yesterday to talk about his incoming recruiting class, and also told the guys what Engram means to his program and how hard they'll work to keep him.

UPDATE: According to Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk, Engram has accepted the Wide Receiver Coach position with the Ravens.

Keep it tuned to 93-7 The FAN for the latest developments with Pitt WR Coach Bobby Engram.
