Man, Woman In Critical Condition After Pitcairn Shooting

PITCAIRN (KDKA) -- Two people are in critical condition after a double shooting Wednesday evening in Pitcairn.

The crime scene is a small alley just off the 500-block of Broadway Avenue.

Police and paramedics responded to the area around 7 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing gunfire.

Ralph Iannotti's Report:

Officials say a man and a woman were shot multiple times each following some sort of a confrontation in Merchants Alley. Both victims were taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition. Both are expected to survive.

Through the course of their investigation, police developed Gary Moore, 34, as one of the suspects in the shooting.

An arrest warrant has been obtained and he will be charged with aggravated assault, attempted homicide, recklessly endangering another person and weapons violations.

Moore is known to frequent the eastern suburbs and Homewood neighborhood of Pittsburgh. He is described as being an African-American male standing about 6-feet tall and weighing 200 pounds.

Moore was last seen driving a 2004 blue Dodge Durango with Pennsylvania license plate JHG-7693.

Anyone who sees Moore is asked to call 911 as he is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit at (412)-473-1300.

Meanwhile, the landlord of an apartment building next to the crime scene said the wounded man was the son of one of his tenants.

He says that tenant told him about something that happened a couple of hours before the shooting that the landlord thinks may be most likely related to the double shooting.

Lisa Washington's Report:

"I got a phone call from one of my tenants around 6 o'clock, saying that her son had been mugged and his wallet and house keys were taken," Tom Barnishin, the landlord, said.

Barnishin said the woman was fearful that the people who took the keys would return and come into the building, and she wanted the locks replaced.
