Pirates' Third Baseman Josh Harrison Reportedly Out 6 Weeks

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed third baseman Josh Harrison on the 15-day disabled list after injuring his left thumb in Sunday's game.

According to some reports, Harrison is expected to miss six weeks with the injury. The team is officially saying that Harrison will seek a second opinion and they will offer an update following that.

"If it was me, I'd say let's go right now. But truth be told, I can't do it today. But, it's one of those things, I guess, only time will tell," said Harrison. "It's just one of those things where it feels better today than it did yesterday, so we'll see. We'll take it from there and continue to do treatment and from there see how much better it gets."

Taking Harrison's place on the 25-man roster is utilityman Travis Ishikawa who the team claimed over waivers over the weekend.

On the year, Harrison was hitting .279 with four home runs, 22 RBI and nine stolen bases.
