Pirates Reacquire A Familiar Face, Offer Lincoln Invite To Spring Training

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - The Pittsburgh Pirates announced today that they have signed former pitcher Brad Lincoln to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League spring training.

Lincoln was traded in 2012 for outfielder Travis Snider from the Toronto Blue Jays.

Since leaving the Pirates, Lincoln has bounced between the majors and minors with the Blue Jays and Phildelphia Phillies, never establishing himself as a regular major league contributor.

Along with Lincoln, the Pirates have signed the following five players to a minor league contract, with an invitation to Major League spring training:

RHP Collin Balester
LHP Jeremy Bleich
RHP Deolis Guerra
RHP Brad Lincoln
INF Gustavo Nunez
RHP Blake Wood

In addition, the following four players have been re-signed to minor league contracts. They all played in the Pirates farm system in 2014:

RHP Felipe Gonzalez
RHP Marek Minarik
RHP Tyler Sample
OF Junior Sosa
