PGA Tour's Brendon Todd Learned A Lot Growing Up In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- Pittsburgh native Brendon Todd has emerged on the PGA Tour this season, with more than $2 million in earnings in 2014.

In his last three events, he won the HP Byron Nelson Championship, tied for fifth at Colonial, and tied for eighth at the Memorial.

Todd told Mike Dudurich that he's playing very well.

"It's a great stretch of three weeks I'm coming off of. I had a blast down there in Texas. I made at least 80 percent of the money this year in Texas with a sixth, a fifth and a first. I'm lovin' that state right now," Todd said.

Todd grew up in McMurray until his family moved to North Carolina when he was 11 years old. Todd said that playing Western Pennsylvania courses, especially his home course of Rolling Hills Country Club, prepared him for professional golf.

"It definitely grew my passion for golf playing at Rolling Hills with my brothers and some of the other kids out there. But the thing you learn, especially at Rolling Hills, is how to hit balls, how to hit shots off of different lies," Todd said.

Todd told Dudurich that he's never played Pinehurst No. 2, site of this year's U.S. Open.

"I'm looking forward to playing. I've won golf tournaments on all of those other courses down there, so I know how to play. It's just a matter of getting familiar with the USGA setup, and trying to fit my game to what they want," Todd said.
