PETA's Top 5 Vegetarian-Friendly MLB Ballparks

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals recently ranked the top vegetarian-friendly ballparks in Major League Baseball. You may be surprised, but there's some really tasty food on this list!

Here's a look at the top 5!

No 1. - AT&T Park – San Francisco

Home to the National League's San Francisco Giants, this ballpark by the bay offers plenty of vegetarian options. It used to be that the only thing juicy about the Giants was Barry Bonds' biceps [allegedly], but that's not the case anymore.

Some of the notables include veggie tacos and burritos, vegetable bowls with pineapple salsa and portobello sandwiches.

No 2 – Citizens Bank Park – Philadelphia

As Pittsburghers, we hate to lose anything to Philadelphia, but we have to throw them a bone every once in a while just to keep things interesting. After all, there's a reason we're called the City of Champions!

Need we remind you about the six Super Bowl titles. What about the three Stanley Cups that most people living can actually remember? 1975 anyone? Even our statues around town are better because they portray the likenesses of actual people and not some fictional boxer.

So, by all means Philadelphia, enjoy being ranked higher than Pittsburgh for once.

Anyway, some notable vegetarian options at the ballpark include faux-chicken patties and black bean burgers.

No. 3 – PNC Park – Pittsburgh

Did you really think there was going to be a "best of" list where Pittsburgh didn't make the cut? Come on, this is Pittsburgh!

The Pirates have taken some big strides forward over the past couple years and they are back in the hunt this year. Johnny Cueto still has nightmares about last year's Wild Card Game [probably].

Anyway, PNC Park has a wide variety of culinary options for all types.

Some notable vegetarian options include Sloppy Janes, the Grilled Veggie Toaster and veggie burgers.

No 4 – Citi Field - New York

While the Mets' on-field product has been anything but impressive in recent history, the same cannot be said about the food.

The Mets would probably rank higher on the list if they could sink a little more money into food development ideas. Just imagine the culinary creations they could develop by adding $1,193,248.20 to the budget every year.

Instead, they take that money and deposit it into Bobby Bonilla's bank account every year and will continue to do so until the end of time.

Tragic.

Some notable vegetarian options include the Blue Smoke barbeque pit beans, sliced mango sprinkled with chili powder.

It wouldn't be New York without a big slice of pizza either – veggie variety, of course.

No. 5 – Nationals Park - Washington

The Washington Nationals have been an exciting team to watch over the past couple of years. The same can be said for their food selections.

It's hard to rip on a team that has "Nat-ittude." A team that was cooler back in Canada. Come on, the Montreal Expos' logo is timeless! How can you top that?

Anyway, back to the food.

Some notable vegetarian options include the roasted cauliflower sandwich and the vegan crab cake.
