Pens Clean Out Lockers, Head Into Uncertain Offseason

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins cleaned out their lockers at CONSOL Energy Center on Thursday after another disappointing end to the playoffs.

Earlier this week, the Penguins lost 2-1 to the New York Rangers in Game 7 of their second round series. What's worse is that the Penguins led the series 3-1.

Sidney Crosby's Locker Room Interview:

A win would have seen them advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for a second straight season.

Since the Penguins' Stanley Cup win in 2009, the team has only won four playoff series. In each of the five years since, the Penguins have bowed out to a lower seed.

Now, big changes are likely coming.

"We're the guys who play. I think at the end of the day, we definitely feel responsible. We're the guys that go out there and want to perform and want to win and I think that we have that expectation," Sidney Crosby said.

"It was up to us to win those hockey games. [Dan Bylsma] is not going to step on the ice and play those games," Kris Letang said.

Kris Letang's Locker Room Interview:

As the Penguins head into the offseason, many questions are being asked about what the team will look like when training camp opens in the fall.

Will Bylsma be back behind the bench? With General Manager Ray Shero be back at the helm? Which players will be kept on the current roster and which will be brought in via free agency and trades?

Marc-Andre Fleury's Locker Room Interview:

One of those players in question is Jussi Jokinen, who led the team with seven goals in the playoffs.

"Obviously, I have no idea what the future will hold. I've really enjoyed my time here and I hope I can be back, but there lots of decisions this organization has to make. I'm one of them too and well see what the summer brings," Jokinen said.

As for injury news, Beau Bennett will undergo surgery next week on his wrist/hand injury that hampered him for much of the season.
