Chief: Penn Hills officer fired gun responding to domestic call

PENN HILLS, Pa. (KDKA) - A Penn Hills officer shot at an armed man while responding to a domestic call on Tuesday morning, police said.

Allegheny County police, who are investigating the incident, said a woman at a home on Veronica Drive reported 51-year-old Justin Suprano was threatening to kill her.

County police said when Suprano answered the door, he was armed with a gun. Police said when Suprano began to raise the shotgun, the Penn Hills officer fired his gun, hitting the home and Suprano's clothes.

Suprano surrendered to officers. Police said he wasn't hurt.

After consulting with the district attorney's office, police said Suprano will be charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
