PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Five families are without a home after fire ripped through a Penn Hills home.

Our news partners at the Post-Gazette report it happened around 6:30 a.m. at a home on Torrance Street.

Reportedly someone tried to use an extinguisher to stop the blaze, but it quickly spread before they could contain it.
