PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- Several trailers were destroyed by fire in Penn Hills on Sunday night and officials suspect arson as the cause.

The fire started at a business after 10 p.m. in the 1900 block of Universal Road. The fire started in one commercial trailer and spread to two others. According to the owner, all three were destroyed.

The trailers are owned by the Merola Company - a contractor that specializes in insulation, plastering and stucco.

"The fire was started in the middle of the trailer, somebody was definitely in it," owner Bill Merola said.

Two of the trailers housed equipment, while the other housed personal belongings of the owner's son.

"Basically storage for my business, the third trailer, my son moved out of Penn Hills and all of his belongings were in there, totally gone," Merola said.

The fire marshal suspects arson and Merola said a lighter fluid can was found at the scene. Merola said he has no disgruntled former or current employees.

Police and fire officials are looking for a motive and a suspect.

There are no reported injuries.
