Penguins Won't Lose Focus As Olympic Break Approaches
PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN) - The NHL will break for the Olympics, and while some teams may be focused on their time off, the Penguins remain focused on playing good hockey.
The Fan's Colin Dunlap was joined by Pens' defenseman Robert Bortuzzo Thursday for the RedBeards "Center Ice Show."
When asked if the team could be looking past their final opponent, the New York Rangers, before the break to focus on their time off, Bortuzzo said, "I guess that could be human nature, but you know, we are all professionals here. We know this is our job and everybody takes it pretty seriously."
Bortuzzo has also been taking his new role on the team seriously now that Kris Letang has been out of play for a few games.
Colin asked about the Letang injury and what Bortuzzo sees from the injured star.
"[Letang]'s a gamer. The guy loves the game more than a lot of guys," said Bortuzzo. "He is very passionate and wants to be in there every night, and we know that, and I'm sure it's tough for him to sit out and watch and not be at full health."
The guys discussed those topics, plus plenty more. Click the link below and listen to the rest of their conversation.
