Penguins To Play Rangers In First Round Of Playoffs

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It's official, the Pittsburgh Penguins will take on the New York Rangers in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The National Hockey League tweeted the news around 9:30 Sunday night.

This news comes following the Islanders' loss to the Flyers.

The home game will be played at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13.

This will be the third straight postseason in which the Penguins and Rangers will face off.

Pittsburgh finished the season with a record of 48-26-8. They will enter the postseason with Evgeni Malkin and Marc-André Fleury sidelined due to injury.
