Penguins Take To Social Media To Post Parade Photos, Thank Fans

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Maybe Kris Letang put it best on Instagram, "What a feeling and what a town. Thank you Pittsburgh."

It's a celebratory day here in the Steel City, now and always also known as the City of Champions.

Early estimates indicate that a record-breaking number of fans flocked to Downtown Pittsburgh Wednesday afternoon for the Penguins' Stanley Cup Victory Parade.

The players themselves were blown away by the turnout.

Penguins' goaltender Matt Murray told KDKA, "I don't even know how to explain it. There's so many people here. I can't even believe it. There's 10-people deep for miles. This is crazy."

But it wasn't just the fans that were happy to see the champs!

During and after the parade, many of the players took to social media, posting photos and videos of their perspective of the route.

The overall sentiment is how grateful they are to the fans.

Letang posted this video of himself hoisting the Stanley Cup in front of hundreds of fans as black and gold confetti rained down:

Then, there's Phil Kessel. He posted this video of the fans to his Instagram page:

He also took to Twitter, posting his first tweet since last summer:

Another part of that fan favorite "HBK Line," Carl Hagelin, posted a selfie of himself and Kessel enjoying themselves with the fans.

Eric Fehr shared this photo, saying the parade has been one of the coolest experiences of his life.

Finally, Derrick Pouliot also captured the moment when he tweeted this amazing photo, waving to the fans:

So, not only was it a special day for the fans; it was also a day the Penguins surely will never forget.
